Traveling to North Lake Tahoe

Hi everyone.  Now that Cody, our 4 1/2 month-old goldendoodle, has finally had all of his shots, and we have the dog harness for the car, we will be taking our first road trip with him up to Lake Tahoe.  We were wondering if anyone has any suggestions for dog parks, dog beaches, or even dog friendly restaurants or cafes in the area.  We are pretty excited about our trip!

I took Shayna to Donner Lake swimming..she loved it...it gets very crowded, so get there early! great swimming! I love Tahoe. Very dog friendly. Just get out and hike. I was with friends who knew the area, so we did a lot of nice hiking in the Donner area...off leash, with rivers, streams and in July last summer. Downtown Truckee seemed to be dog friendly too. So these are my 2 suggested areas...Favorite restaurant...forget the name..but it is downtown Truckee, upstairs, has balcony and serves Asian and American cuisine...no other restaurant fits this description..DO NOT MISS THIS !!! ASK to sit ouside and east AMERICAN,,,,great food...from a real foody here...
