Trying to figure out her coat type wavy or curly . Please help!

IMHO....from the photo and my experience, I think she will have a stunning, on the thick side, wavy, or slightly curly fleece coat....not Poodle-y. I strongly advise you not to cut or trim her coat too early and not with clippers! You should trim around her eyes of course. I have known many friends who shaved their Doodles early (including me).....not short....but when her coat came in, it was like a Poodle. I don't know what science regarding dog coats that is......but I've seen it and wish I'd known. My other girl is going on 13 and has a long wavy fleece coat that I've always scissor cut.

, until I used a clipper with a snap on comb and has always grown out curly; she is 9.

Interesting about the clipping.  I've thought about purchasing clippers for Riley but maybe scissor cutting will be safer for keeping her "shaggy" wavy coat.

I prefer scissor cuts to clippers. If I believed that shaving made hair grow in differently I’d be very tempted to shave my thin, straight, baby-fine hair. LOL

I mean it does give a different look since when you cut it shorter the hair shaft you see is thicker (since it's closer to the root/further from the worn down tips).

My mother in law has hair like that and she hates it, I understand :p

I don't know we'll see how it goes.  Riley has a LOT of hair and it would be extremely time-consuming to scissor cut.  I don't know if I would like her look clipped though since as I understand it the longest you can get it is about 1".  Right now it's about 4" long and I love it.
