There's really no point in sending a message to a group. Nobody can respond to it. That's really meant for group administrators to make announcements, and most of us have disabled that function altogether. If you are looking for feedback on something, either start a discussion in the group, or post it in the "comments" section of the group. Sending a message won't get you any responses.
The group admin might send a message calling attention to a new discussion or something like that, where no response is expected, the way that Adina sends general announcements to all DK members. But it's frustrating when a member sends a message to the group, because it's usually a question, and even when it's just a comment, there is no way to respond to the person. There's not even a link to the person's page. So there's no reason for anyone except group admins to send a message to all members of a group.
Cathie, the reason you are having a problem is because the "send message to group" function is disabled in the Health & Medical issues group, as I thought.
Cathie, you can leave a comment in the group or start a discussion if you have a question or are looking for opinions on something.
If it is disabled, there shouldn't be an option for anyone to use "send message to group" -- perhaps she is calling the comments box - 'a message'. Just refresh the page, Cathie, and try again. Or if all else fails, post here and maybe somebody can post your question in there for you.
It's definitely disabled. I can't tell what it looks like to non-administrators, though.
