Sometimes on walks we go near the commuter rail station, and Snickers will sit and watch the train go by-absolutely fascinated. Sometimes I also take the train downtown and my husband and Snickers and I will come “pick “ me on the platform, he will sit like a gentleman waiting for me to depart the train again absolutely fascinated.  So last night we are watching TV about 9:00 pm, Snickers snugly tucked into his crate with the blanket over it-and there is a train on with whistles and chugging, and he starts barking-first a quiet half asleep bark and then it gets louder as the train noise continues-it is almost like he is MISSING the train and he is upset, then when the scene changed, he was quiet again and fell back asleep-the ironic thing a few minutes later on the TV there was some barking dogs and not a peep from him!  Do your dogs react to strange noises or images on the tv?  My DH and I were just cracking up!

Ha ha! I didn't think of it that way. Maybe she doesn't want me to remember that I'm the pack leader!
Daisy will react to a doorbell ringing on the TV but that is it, not dogs, not barking, nothing.
Monty is enamored by dogs, doorbells, horses.  But the strangest one ever, we were watching a subtitled french movie.  I swear he sat and watched the entire movie.  We were amazed.  I dont know if he knows french from another lifetime or what?
When the winter olympics were on, Cubbie would absolutely freak out every time speed skating was on.  He would hear the sound and would come running from whatever room he was in and run up to the screen where he would woof and growl at the tv.  It was very strange.
My dogs rush to the door after hearing the doorbell - on TV!

Chewie reacts to dogs and ringing phones on TV.

I just can't believe how fluffy chewi is.

These are great stories :)

Maggie pretty much ignores the tv. The only time I have seen her go up to the tv and actually watch it is when I had "Best in Show" on. It cracked me up. (It might have been because I was laughing so hard at the movie, but she was ignoring me.)

Oh Maggie! That is hilarious! That movie is sooo funny and she must have enjoyed all of the dogs and sweet lovey talk to them.
Too funny!!! Smart doodle!
The other day Huff was barking because there were kids laughing on tv.

Luna tries to sniff any dogs that appear on the TV, and she has barked at the TV a few times.

Here is a video of her when she was little where she barks at Dr. Phil ;)

She also likes to watch geese and airplanes fly by.  We live by an airport, so she has lots of planes to watch ;)
