Sometimes I forget..... My little Zoey and I live by ourselves and do most things together. She goes where I go and does what I do. She seems pretty agreeable about this arrangement.
She kisses me awake in the morning, stretches and dances when I put on her leash for a walk. She is generally well behaved and loves other people and dogs. She is still very playful at 2 yrs old and loves to play in the yard. She stands up to my kitchen counters (surfing), but doesn't steal anything - she is just incredibly nosey!!
As a puppy I lost a couple of good house shoes because I didn't close my closet door. She only liked the stinky ones I wore without socks! :^) The only things that she goes after now are discarded paper towels or Kleenex. Those are still deserving of a good shaking!!
I broke my glasses the other day. I had to put in an older pair of contacts, but needed readers until the new glasses get here. So I bought them and put them at my bedside to read at night. Zoey goes to bed before me sometimes, so I thought nothing of it. When I walked into the bedroom, there she was with my new readers and case torn to smithereens! She looked at me like I was crazy as I screamed at her.
Like I said, sometimes I forget.... Zoey is a dog and will still do doggie stuff. Trust me, I do dumb human stuff sometimes. Lesson learned. The new readers are in the bedside table drawer!!!

Too funny!!! Luckily Zoey is so adorable it’s impossible to stay mad at her!!!
I didn't stay mad too long, but I had to increase the font so high on my Kindle, that my thumb got tired pushing for "next page"! lol
I was just talking to my mom last night about how Katie is kind of a Peter Pan. She's 4 1/2 and I don't think she's going to grow up. She ate a pyrex lid this week, and I just bought that! She somehow managed to counter surf it during the 5 minutes I was in the shower. And she wasn't even sorry. It doesn't phase her at all if I fuss at her. It's like she knows I'm all talk. My mom was talking about how Katie is an opportunistic bra eater, and I said she hasn't eaten a bra in years! And her reply was, it's just because she has you trained to put them away! True. Definitely a dog. A naughty little daughter dog who I was probably too permissive with, but man is she ever cute!
Sorry to hear about the readers! I'm sure Zoey is very sorry too.
"Peter Pan" is a very apt description! I'll have to remember that. But I think she did know that I was aggravated at her. She didn't get her song that night. I know it sounds a little silly, but I sing "Silver Bells" to her every night, but substitute other words and call it "Silver Coat" She watches me intently the whole song. :^)
Ned chewed my glasses up once as a puppy- I had to wear my prescription sunglasses until they could be repaired. I was so angry at him. He didn’t much care. As a mature 10 year old, he still gets into waste baskets, even the dog-proof ones! when the paper lure overwhelms him.
Yuck! At least mine were just readers. She was not responsible for breaking my glasses, but I did it while adjusting her leash. Stuck them in my pocket, bent over, and snapped them in two pieces. I'm getting a spare set this time!!!
It's those sweet doodle eyes that get you every time!
