Buck is no longer available for adoption! Why you ask? Because we couldn't stand it any longer and adopted him ourselves! My DH said we just couldn't have another dog - 4 traveling in an RV is just too many he said. Our yard is just too small he said. This is just not the right time he said. I agreed - intellectually. I decided my deadline was Thursday. If no one had adopted him by then, well ..... My real personal deadline was after this weekend, but my DH came home from work and said, Let's go!" So we loaded the dogs and our home-from-college son into the car and took off. Ned and I introduced Buck to my DH, son and our other dogs. Buck appears to have been loved at one time. He was chipped, neutered and socialized. Then... for some reason he was abandoned in a nearby town and put into a kill shelter. When he was put on the list for Euthanasia, the pet adoption center took him in. He has some mats and has hair blocking his eyes and he stinks but he is sweet, doesn't counter surf, isn't aggressive. We are having some jostling for pecking order. He is off to the groomer tomorrow so we will get to see what he really looks like. Really fun news is that he and Ned were born on the same day - March 17, 2008. Now I have two St. Patrick's Day babies. I will post after-the-grooming photos and tell you his new name.
I was thinking the exact same thing...River! Gracie Doodle met a standard Poodle last weekend in the mountains and his name was River. He was magnificent and Gracie had a very nice run and romp in the fields with River!
