Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

My labradoodle is 5 1/2 and I noticed this weekend she had urine leaking while she was just lying down. Has anyone experienced this?

*urinary*
Unfortunately, our first doodle, Sedona, had urinary leakage - not super bad, but enough to be of concern. Although we'll never know for sure, we suspect that her leakage was related to her early spay.

We tried a number of natural, homeopathic supplements, but we didn't have great results. We were reluctant to try the stronger prescription medications because of the potential side effects. We kept covers on the couches and on our bed. Unfortunately, Sedona died at age 6 so we don't know how the situation might have progressed.

Hope you find a way to help your baby.

I've got a 12.5 year old male who recently started having this issue, but that's a common occurrence in old age, not in 5 year olds. I'd see your vet.

I agree, call the Vet.  Could be UTI.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I will definitely call the vet.

Let us know what the vet diagnoses.

I took Jacki to the vet yesterday. They did a urinalysis. They found no blood in the urine, however, there were white blood cells and the urine pH was high. All of this indicated a bladder infection may be brewing. They gave her amoxicillin and I need to take her back in 2 weeks. If the amoxicillin doesn't help, she may have early onset incontinence which would mean more meds...estrogen?

I'm so glad you took her and that they found something that can be addressed.  I hope the amoxicillin works also.
