Okay so I took my scruffy looking Marley to the groomer to get a cleaned up a bit and ended up with a COMPLETLY different looking dog!! Ughh so annoying -- I told him specifically that I still wanted her to have a longer look more like a golden and he was in agreement. When I picked her up her hair was so short and she looks very "poodly" (no offense to those that like that -- we just don't).
Hey Shannon - been there, done that. Takes awhile to find a groomer who really listens, and remembers what you tell them! I found one thing to do is when Marley gets just the right hair length, take a picture. Then, take it in and leave it with the groomer so they have something to reference. That way, they have no excuses!
If I groomed Ned, he would look really, really bad! I never could cut my daughter's bangs straight!!! Ned's groomer is a really nice lady who tries really hard to cut his hair the way I want. We are really lucky. But the bottom line is that his fur will grow out and you will get better at finding a groomer who will listen to you.
I'm scared. Fergie goes on Tuesday for her twice-a-yr all over doo. I liked it last time but I'm still scared. NOTHING SHORTER THAN 2"!!!!! NOTHING ON THE TAIL. I'll brush her Sunday and Monday all day just to make sure there are no matts even though she doesn't matt.
I had the same problem with Beckett. It was way too short. I'm nervous about taking him again. But next time, if I go to the same place,(or even if I don't) , I'll bring in a picture. It's still growing out now.
I know the feeling! Abby hasnt been yet but in the past with my old dog/s. It is shocking - like when you are in high-school and the boy with the cute wavy head full of hair shows up with a buzz cut! lol
