Water Caper Solved

In the last couple of weeks I've found the outside water faucet running 8 times.  I have been blaming our DD Lexi (7) for playing in the water and not turning it all the way off.  We have a cold and hot water sprout on one side of the house.  The first 2 times it was the cold.  All the rest have been the hot and we have a 100 gallon hot water heater.  So it has been very irritating.  This morning I'm outside working and look over at just the right time to find Ms. Clover turning the water on with her mouth.  Clover always watches when I fill the water bowl up for them.  I used the hot water 1 time to clean the bowl instead of taking it into the house, so she must have realized the hot water felt better in the cold weather. 

Now I have to apologize to my DD and tell her I'm sorry.  Lexi has been blaming it on the dogs.  I kept telling her that there is NO WAY the dog can turn the water on.  We are going through this phase were Lexi doesn't always tell the truth.  I feel HORRIBLE for not believing her.  I never thought it might be the dog.

The worst part is I have to tell my DH that we need to pay the plumber to install shut off valves. 

Lesson to the story is "If your child says the dog did it.  It really might be the dog".

Oh, I love this! What are the odds that it would be the dog and not her - really..... Give Lexi a water balloon to be filled at a warmer date and a free shot at you!
