Okay so Ollie does this thing where once in a while he will stick his whole nose in the water...its real bizarre...I'm wondering if he sees himself in the water bowl. Do any of your doodles do this? (I'm only asking b/c I find it funny, not b/c it needs to stop)

Yep.... Sasha has some strange habits :) Both doodles like me as a towel too but I never seen them use the carpet.
Wow Barbara! LOL! I could just picture them! Sasha on the wall?! Jack is a dripping mess after drinking but I'm usually standing there to wipe him! If I didn't, I think he'd just walk around the house like that! Yikes!
Janie - yeah its pretty funny, thank God I don't have wall paper on the walls !!! I too like to wipe their faces when they are done drinking to prevent the lovely habits they have developed. Ollie likes to drip dry too so there is a trail of water all over. I have hardwood floors and area rugs - I guess I will never have wall to wall carpet in my house ! As I told Bonnie.. the only room with wall to wall is my bedroom which is white and they are not allowed in there.
Sadie wipes her face on the furniture too--she'll walk all the way around the bed and back again (I guess to make sure she gets both sides?)
Luna doesn't do this with her water bowl... but she puts her whole muzzle into puddles and mud puddles and blows bubbles. She does it in her little swimming pool in the summer too!
Oh... how cute Luna blowing bubbles :) When Sasha was a baby and before Ollie here, I had her bowls on the floor, she would have the zoomies, then run to her water bowl, dig in it and then run like crazy, come back - dig again and zoom around - she was having a blast but what a mess. Shortly after that I got the raised bowl stand = problem solved :)
Izzie is a fairly neat water drinker. She licks the excess off her face and does not drip everywhere. Max is the opposite. He gets his whole face and beard wet and drips water all over the house. He usually then comes and puts his head on my lap and gets my clothes wet. I can't resist those long eye lashes so a wet lap for me.
Mine done, but my mom's Borzoi has the longest snout ever and the poor thing has to dunk his snout under water to drink...come up for air, dunk and drink, come up for air...
Camus is not messy with his water at all. His tongue is really long, which I think helps because it is all that goes in the water.
