One of the "extra" benefits of adding Banjo to our lives is he gets me "up and out" every day. We walk at least a mile every day....some days more when I'm off from work. If it's a very hot day, or just plain rainy and miserable our one mile may be broken up into 3 or 4 shorter walks. I often wondered if I could "count" those shorter walks as exercise.....Just came upon this article in BARK magazine....if you're wondering the same thing you might enjoy reading this. http://www.thebark.com/content/walk-it
Yep, those shorter walks count, too! Years ago, we thought people had to do at least 30 straight minutes of cardiovascular exercise to see a benefit. By the time I retired from personal training, the common wisdom was that "it's all good"! And doing it with a doodle makes it enjoyable, too!
You should get Nike+ shoes which count all your walks via an Ipod. It is really interesting how much you walk actually! I was surprised how much distance I make with the boys during a day on our morning - lunch - dinner walks.
