We just picked up Bella

She is sirry cute... So full of energy. The one thing I can say I dont like right now is she is extreamly mouthy. I have never experienced this before. My hands are actually bleeding in a couple spots. Any suggestions on how to handle this? I am attaching a pics she gave me they took 2 days ago.

Congrats on Bella's homecoming!  Try giving her a puppy chew toy instead of your hand to chew on...

Most of the time mouthiness goes away with maturity, but in the meantime have toys to give her to chew.  When she does bite you scream like a baby who just got bitten.

Yes, at least it was normal for us. Echo is 8 1/2 months old. I am not a fan of mouthing and licking. It was something I wanted OVER quick! As part retriever he trends toward being mouthy. One thing that has really helped is that my trainer taught him "OUT". It means whatever he is doing with his mouth, stop NOW!!! If he has a stick in his mouth he needs to drop, if I want the tennis ball back so I can throw it again, or if he is eating deer poop.

Echo learned "drop it" almost instantly. All I did was say the comand and dig whatever (even chewed poop) it was out of his mouth. Eventually (a week), he would just drop it on his own. Of course, if it's very high value it's gone before I can do much about it.

Sorry about the derail with my post, but I was trying to impart that the one command can be used for a variety of situations.

No I appreciate the humor.. I did alot of research on These guys before I concidered getting one and I didn't recall that ever sticking out in what I read. Now tonight when I specifically type in goldendoodle Mouthy it brought up a slew of things. I'm sure we'll get through it. I guess I lucked out with both of my goldens as I never had this come up before. But no appologies needed here I had a good laugh at your post..

She is a little beauty, being mouthy is why puppies and small children sometimes don't mix. Quincy never minded the bitter apple but then I found bitter lime, after a couple of tastes of that all I had to do was show him the bottle and he would stop.
