OMD! What a Saturday we have had with the new puppy. He is so energetic. This morning when we put him outside, he started digging under a tree on the deck. He took out all the bricks and dug a big hole (looking for a gopher?). He runs in front of the leaf blower catching acorns before they can hit the ground. It doesn't seem to bother him at all. He jumps into his water bowl just to splash the water all over the place. We took him to Santa Cruz with us today and the car is puppy proofed but he crawled under the blocker and tore up the arm rest in the back seat. He was sitting in the back seat looking very happy when we got back to the car. He can grab things so quickly (shoes from the closet, socks from the hamper, treats from the pantry) and then he is gone. He got the remote from the bookcase today and we were just able to save it. We took him to two dog parks this week and he was absolutely in heaven with all the bigger dogs. Nothing bothers him. He loves to wrestle with other dogs. This is definitely not a shy dog!
I think you are having a run for your money with this one. I know with my human children, I thought I had done a pretty good job of parenting, until I had the second one and we went through the terrible twos for about 3 years!!!! Then I realized we had parented our easy one first.
Sounds very similar to me this time last year. It does get better! Some days I even wish it back. It will keep you young!!!
Enjoy the adventure, don't forget to laugh.
Lynda, what is the new little guy's name? Sounds like you are fogging to be getting your exercise for a while. What does Groucho Too think of him? Post some photos!
Okay, I am ready to post some photos. His name is Harpo San Marcos. We thought that Harpo went well with Groucho and it starts with an H and ends with an O - like Hondo. I don't remember the other pups being quite this frisky. He is constantly on the go but sleeps through the night. I get up about 3:00 or 3:30 and take him out for a pee and then put him right back in his playpen. He goes to bed at 8:00 at night and sleeps until 7:00 in the morning. Thank goodness! We try to get in a little nap during the day and he never complains when he is in the playpen. We are all adjusting and just need to remember to close doors and put everything up high.
Yes, a few years younger, and I was still working when Hondo and Groucho Too were puppies. Just like Harpo, they followed Charlie everywhere and he even took Hondo biking from the time he was about 4 months old.
