Weird Part on Coat

Hi all!

I recently started noticing a part developing on Teddy's coat. He never had it as a baby, and now at four months, it seems to be getting more pronounced. I am not sure if it's because his hair is getting longer or because he's shedding his baby coat. The hair in the part seems to be more coarse, shorter and darker than the rest of his coat. Anyone else experience something similar?

Banjo went through this phase at that age.   The coarse, darker stripe gradually widened.  For a while he looked pretty wild....like a patchwork quilt of different length and textured hair.    It was only a matter of months before that passed and his coat turned was uniformly soft.     Not to worry, this shall pass.

Thank you for your response! Glad to hear that it will somewhat even out. He's just going through a really awkward stage right now and this stripe issue isn't helping haha!

Yeah that 4-6 month period is super awkward.  They are so gangly and their hair is doing weird things.  Luna was also a "land shark" during that time and biting everything.

Perfectly common. It seems to be a phase in many doodles coats. It eventually goes away.
