Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi there,

Our multi-gen labradoodle Gus is the best. He will be 1 years old tomorrow (can't believe it!)

This is not a serious problem, but I was just wondering if anyone else had a similar experience. There have been two times in the past couple months where Gus has been really, really tired. The first was after a weekend that he stayed with some of our friends while we were away (I dont think he slept much because he was in a new place) and the second was last night, after an exhaustive outing to the dog park. In both cases, when Gus got home, he drank a large amount of water, and then went to sleep on the futon in our guest room. Well, both times, he piddled in his sleep! Not a huge amount, but enough to make a large wet spot on the futon and wet his fur down. Last night, he came running into the living room where we were very suddenly, and I think he did that because he realized what he had done. I took him out and he did a rather large pee. Too funny.

Anyone elses doodle ever do something like this?

My chihuahua will piddle in his sleep if he has a bad dream - seriously. I feel him shaking and barking (it is definitely a dream). Then he pees a bit. He wakes up immediately and looks so embarrased...
Doodle Peri, however, has not done that yet!
Yes, Remington has done this 2 times. Both after bad dreams... he would be crying in his sleep and then pee a little bit... I can't get mad because I know it is a complete accident :)
This is definitely a tired thing. If Snickers is exhausted the first thing he does is wander around like he is in a sleepy daze. About three times he has stopped and all of a sudden he is peeing. I don't even think he realizes it because he then just sort
of stares as it is happening.

Needless to say whenever he is out an about with a lot of excitement we take him
outside before putting him
in the crate for bed!
I have no experience with this but I have heard of this happening with CHILDREN who get so tired that they just don't wake up in time... So why not puppies? When Tara gets tired (usually starts around 8:30pm) she will just wander around the house like she is confused and doesn't know what to do or where she is.

And they DO grow up SO FAST!!! Happy First Birthday, GUS!!!
