What are you doing for Thanksgiving?

I have the rest of the week off, DH had Mon and Tuesday as well. Since I had to work he got to clean for company. Fortunately our company consists of DD, SIL their two dogs and us so not much cleaning involved.

Today I did some prep work for tomorrow. Baked the pies, got the mushrooms stuffed, made the brine for the turkey, also prepared the sweet potatoes and cleaned the Brussel Sprouts. Tomorrow should be a breeze. DD is bringing the appetizers.

Our plan is to put the turkey in the oven and head to the park for some dog time fun, hopefully tiring them out for a relaxing dinner and evening.

What are your plans. Are you one of the lucky ones that just goes to a relative or friends home, or are you the one that will be doing the cooking? I can tell you this. I will NOT be doing the dishes.

Hi Lisa.... I had off today too !!  I bathed both doodles which took me all monring but it is quality time I spend with them so I don't mind at all, now I have two sparkling clean doodles - and they smell good too!!

 

I am going to my brother-in-law's family's house for Thanksgiving, I am looking forward to it because we always have a great time and the food is great too.  My only regrets is that I have to leave Sasha and Oliver home :(

 

I am bringing an appetizer, spinach dip so not much cooking here :)

I brushed Daisy today before her and DH left for the Sunny Lake, they were gone 3 hours....I love it!

It is a bummer when the doods can't go but at least they have each other.

DD cooks, I do dishes, which I much prefer. I picked up the pies today from Baker's Square, Pumpkin and Harvest Berry Galletin, which looks so good I am going to have a hard time waiting 'til to tomorrow to sample it. I'm also supplying the wine.

Cleaning...well, that's what I should be doing right now, lol!

There will only be four of us, so it will be a nice relaxed day, I hope.

I like this arrangement. Last year DD and SIL had Thanksgiving, both sets of parents came. Apparently my DD does not cook for us because she called to tell me her in laws were in Florida on vacation and was I having dinner? I thought she had taken over the task! That's okay though, I like being home.

Our hired help cleans and gets the meal prepared. They have been busy all week. All I have to do is take the dinners out to the backyard tents so my sons, while studying for their MCATS ,can eat.

Happy Thankgiving to you too!    I have my family here for the day.....I do most of the cooking - but I wouldn't have it any other way....it's my favorite holiday.   We had a snow storm over night and sitting having our coffee this morning at quarter to six...we saw a big blue flash down the road and the power went out.   NO!!!   I have pies to bake....side dishes to prepare.....a house to clean!    I did what I could and thankfully the power was restored just after 10am.    Hope everyone has a wonderful day.  : )

I would have died! Thank Goodness it came back on! Snow Storm, well at least Banjo is enjoying it!
