I'd be surprised if there are any reputable breeders producing this cross. That's a lot of Poodle; at that point, you might as well just go with a purebred.
Agreed! No good breeder would be doing this. My thoughts are someone with a dog, who wants to breed it and could only find another in- tact poodle.
I would just call it a poodle with a dash of Golden/Lab. Yep, just name the pup Dash.
Nancy, my vet had poodles too. He and his son came in on that very first vet visit to look at the baby poodle with the winter glove handing from his mouth, shocked he was a mix.
A few years ago, a man came up to me, upset, and told me my poodle was fat! Spud is not fat, it was just the chest girth of Golden Retriever mix in the genes.
So yes, why bother. You might as well get a wonderful Standard Poodle. I often think, I may next time if or when, I ever get another dog
I agree with Karen & Joanne. There is more to breeding than most people think and whenever I see a new member who has just bought a doodle puppy come on this forum asking when their new puppy will "doodle out" and why is my doodle shedding we thought they were hypo allergenic - etc. etc., I pray they will keep that non doodle looking puppy and give it the love it deserves whether it looks like a doodle or not! The time to research is before the purchase not after.
Amen, Linda. It seems the only research many people do is looking at pictures on breeder websites and reading the sales pitch.
Wishing the very best for this puppy and hoping they have a confident, healthy, happy dog. Whatever kind of dog it may be, give them all the support you learned here.
Enjoy your puppy classes, Sue :)
Well he is perfect! Beautiful boy. Love the Jolly Roger tag too
Very handsome doodle!
What a handsome doodle/poodle!
