Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I have a new puppy and have been pretty much addicted to DK since we brought Quincy home a month and half ago. I just want to give a HUGE shout out to everyone who posts such great ideas, product recommendations and laughs to share
I am pretty sure I have read most of this stuff- since I work from home and have gotten pretty much zero work done lately -here are a few items that have stuck with me:
But mostly I have learned after reading about some of the hardships and illnesses some of you have experienced that I feel so very grateful to have a healthy girl (so far. I hope and pray anyone who right now is struggling will get good news and their pups will be on the mend and get healthy.
thanks guys!

I have to agree with you 100%. I did join DK before we got Monty, but then kind of forgot about it without realizing all the resources that can be found here. You know, a first time dog owner. I thought books had all the information.....NOT!!! I definitely got more support, ideas and help here on DK from the "real time" doodle owners than I got from the millions of books that I bought before Monty arrived. This is the best community website EVER. So let me join you in thanking all members. You rock!
P.S. By the way, what is your occupation? I work from home part-time, which was the main reason we got Monty. To add one more bullet to your list: they DO mellow out and let you work....eventually. LOL!
I do marketing and development for the eye wear industry. It is the best distraction I can think of. Hands down- The resources here are tremendous to new dog owners- so glad to have found this site.
We could also add to this list: The one thing I didn't realize would be so important and that I would be watching on a daily basis when I got my doodles ... POOP ... and the consistency thereof! Who knew.
Yup, how many times they go and what it looked like. :-)
I really love this post! We all keep learning from one another here on DK....and we have some fun too!
This post brings back memories of the many "aha moments" I had on DK including
- what lipstick and red rockets are
- what zoomies are
- what good food is
- how to speak to your groomer to get the cut you want
- the value of support when your doodle is sick
- the value of support when you are trying to train your doodle
- the value of support period!
Cheers to DK and all the wonderful, caring people here who are so willing to share their experience, pictures and stories! Thanks for posting this Patty!
BG I'm with you on the first too! YIKES I was so shocked! The zoomies had no clue even though Myla was a everyday zoomie girl!
This is a very nice post! I learn something new almost every day on DK!!
I didn't find DK until Quincy was 8mos old, I sure wish I had found it sooner. The very first thing I learned is that I should have been feeding a better food. I have learned a lot since then but what I value even more than the knowledge I've gained are the wonderful people and doodles I've met. I've shed lots of tears and had lots of laughs. If someone had told me before DK that I would become a part of an online forum I would have said not in a million years. I'm so glad I was wrong.
BTW, I had lots of clothes with doodle holes in them, it does get better.
I don't know why I posted instead of just saying ditto!! Especially about joining an online forum.

My husband had a huge L shaped hole in his favorite (and expensive) heavy terry robe from Samantha, aka Ms. Perfect. I swear you will forget the tough times especially when you get THE look and you melt.
