Noah loves all types of dogs, but his favorites are shih tzus. Every time one comes into the park, he gets so excited and usually chases the shih tzu around the park trying to hump! I'm curious to see what types of dogs other doodles prefer to play with.
That's funny, because Jackdoodle alsolutely hates the shih-tzu who lives around the corner. But she is a nasty bitch (female dog, lol) who once tried to bite him.
Jack is really attracted to labs, especially yellow labs. I always think they must remind him of his mother. But he has friends of all breeds, and dogs he dislikes of all breeds. Usually, he is most comfortable around other dogs who are about the same size he is.
I've never noticed any particular aversion or love of any breeds in my dogs. Neither seem to know/care they are doodles the way some doodles seem to prefer their own kind. They are truly breed blind!
Mine are both big enough not to be intimidated by size. Rosco has the potential to chase tiny breeds...but doesn't mind them and wont bug them if they dont run fast and squeak!
Oh but male dogs loooooooooove Thule! She gets frequently followed by males! I've never seen another dog attract so many boys!
We don't get too many doodles on the small side of the dog park, but Halas does really seem to like Brooksy, who is a mini GD from the same breeder as Halas. Halas seems to like any dog that is shorter than him and will play chase. Lately, he's played a lot with these 2 corgis.
LOL! There you go again Jane. Thanks for the chuckle!
No experience there really. Old Bailey always had small dog syndrome - so he prefers humans. No favorite breed - pretty much dislikes them all -lol. And Abby just loves them all.
I can picture the hounds cat-calling, and whistling at Thule, Adina. LOL
Her favorite playmate is a ball! But when there are none around she actually plays like a dog. But only with other Doodles! If another breed of pup attempts to give the doogy greeting (sniffing her privates) she gives the Doodle 180 degree jump and turn but will allow another Doodle to greet and sniff.
The 180 jump, that is hilarious. Hartley doe this all the time!! Non-doodle owners always find it quite disconcerting!! He and another LD in our classes also love to hug each other (on hind legs, arms around each other), we call it the 'doodle hug' and they always great each other this way!! Occasionally they will bestow an 'honorary doodle hug' on our trainers German Shepherd!!
Cricket has a thing for chihuahuas! Her first friend at puppy class was a chiweenie (chihuahua/daschund mix) so she loves little doggies! She gets excited whenever she sees a chihuahua! :)
