So we've all done it ... toiled over what name we will give our new puppy/dog. Names come from everywhere. I know a Peat, a Guiness, a Breslin, a Stout ... all unique names given for a reason. I've even seen Leroy "Gibbs" on Doodle Kisses! So here's the discussion ... let us know what your doodle's name is and why you chose it.

Sawyer... That was actually the name the breeder called him. It just stuck. My sons (16, 14, and 12) also love the Lost series. We watch the whole series once a year starting over spring break! And Sawyer is one of the main characters. Our breeder just had another litter (same mom, but a miniature poodle dad this time instead of standard)... There are three more of Sawyer's half brothers left and I'm so tempted to add another to our family...and of course his name would have to be a Lost character...Sawyer and Sayid? Sawyer and Locke? Haaaa.....

Ha ... I LOVE "Lost". What a great idea to pick Sawyer ... one of my favorite characters too! I'll vote for Jack if you get another dood ... Sawyer and Jack always were in competition!

Love the name Sawyer.

My little Doodle was such a treasure that Jewel just seemed the perfect fit for her. She was a two year wait for me also, but well worth it! Love the name Ragley and all the story behind it. Many hugs, positive thoughts and prayers for you and your family.

LOVE Jewel! A great name.

Our girl was from a litter of rock musicians - but I didn't think Betty suited her, within hours of getting her home it hit me - Journey. She locked on it immediately. For the band, for the weekend trip we took to go get her, and most of all because she is here to make the journey through life with me. Life is not a destination = it's a Journey!

My little guy, well he came from a litter of Knights and I thought I would keep his lovely name, Gareth,  but sure enough the day after we got him home he was running through the back yard and I said, "Oh, you are such an Elmer".  I have no idea where that came from.  Not Elmer Fudd, maybe Elmer's glue because he sticks really close, oh none of those - but for a friend of mine who is a Hawaiian musician. The man has a voice from heaven, the presence of solidity, and he is a loving gentle soul.  Elmer means 'honorable' and Gareth means the gentle knight - so when he gets in trouble he is Sir Gareth Elmer!.

Fabulous names!

Wonderful names.

Meg was a rescue already named and we decided she had enough confusion in her life since we were her fourth home.  We got the next one unnamed and chose Polly Wolly Doodle because, well...doesn't it just make you smile?

yes! singing Polly Wolly Doodle all the day!

Love that name! How fun

I LOVE Meg for a name ... I don't think I know any Meg's. And, of course, I'm sure I don't know any Polly Wolly Doodles ... until now!
