Chewie is going to be on two meals a day now. He had been eating at approximately 8 am, 1 pm, and 6 pm. I was wondering how far apart meals should be now on this new schedule?

Thanks!

I free feed Lucy as per her vet when I first took her there at 10 weeks. She eats when she is hungry usually once in the evening. It would be hard for me tokeep her on a schedule while working different shifts.
I would omit the 1 pm feeding and move the 6 pm feeding up a little if possible...maybe 4 pm, until Chewie adjusts to going longer between meals. Breakfast and dinnertime feedings are the norm, I think, in most households. That's the way I've always done it, anyway.
I usually feed twice a day around 8a.m. unless they wake up earlier, if they do not finish their morning meal or don't eat, I will let it there for them and they can nibble when they want, and than around 4:00p.m to 5:00p.m. I like for them to eat their later meal a little earlier so they can get time to digest it at least 90 minutes before evening exercise and not to cause them bloat. I don't know if you leave dry out for him if he does not eat all of his morning meal, but that might help with the 1:00 being cut, he could nibble if he gets hungry..and than feed between 4 to 5:00p.m. If he's active in the evening, I would try and move his meal time up if you can.
8am and 6pm should be fine. There's not a 'right' time or a 'right' spacing...go with what works for YOU and your dog.

One of our dogs gets lunch and dinner only. The other two get only dinner.
How much food do you all give them? I give my 10 week old pup a cup and a half and it takes him all day to eat it. I just leave it out for him since he never finishes it.
Mine are adults of various sizes on a different food than your young pup so it's impossible to compare. There's no 'right' amount. It just depends on your pup's age, size, and food. I would go by what the bag says for his size and age and adjust based on whether or not he's at a healthy weight.
