What To Do If You Know Of / Have a Doodle That Needs a New Home

This is from IDOGs Volunteer Guide: "Doodles frequently need diplomats...sometimes after speaking with you, owners decide they want to give the dog a second chance. You may have helped them see their pet has...and they needed guidance...this is not a failure...it's an opportunity to educate the owners and help them...If the owners do want to surrender the dog, do not make it hard for them. If they do not feel comfortable or feel that they are being judged, they may dump the dog at a shelter, euthanize the dog or turn him loose...rather than deal with rehoming. Diffuse the situation so that it does not turn into a rescue."

1. If the dog came from a breeder that you can locate, contact them to see if they will take the dog back / rehome it.
2. Find out if there is a local rescue organization that can foster/rehome the dog.
3. Contact IDOG at idog.biz
4. Contact Adina, Lynne, or Jacquie privately and one of us will contact you to discuss your options and confidentially guide you through the process of rehoming your dog
5.

What else? Leave your suggestions in the comments below. Thx!

More suggestions, sentences to explain/guide are welcome...it need not be a bullet list, but I thought that was a place to start...as suggestions come in I will edit them into this article and delete the comments so it is just an article. I will not include city/state specific tips into this as I want it to be only as long as necessary, but we have made note of Joy's rescue efforts in San Diego.
Yes, if you find a listing that is fine, I believe. If you personally know of a person (who has not listed their dog anywhere) I would suggest #1-3 to them and then if those don't work out contact one of us Lynne, Jacquie or myself.
