Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I am no expert, but I think the resulting puppies would be called F2Bs.
I'm pretty sure that if you have a goldendoodle and breed it back to a lab you would have an F1B - it's just that most reputable breeders breed the goldendoodle back with a poodle in order to get the curlier coats and less chance of shedding.
I think that if you breed a goldendoodle with an F1b goldendoodle, you would have an F2B but I'm not positive.
If you type in "breeding" in the search bar at the top of the page, there are quite a few discussions with charts to break it all down. It's definitely confusing after the initial F1B breeding.
I think you got it exactly right, Wendy. In cases where you breed an F1 doodle back to a Retriever, you actually have a "reverse" F1B.
The confusing part in this case is that you have a Lab and a goldendoodle, so I'm not sure if this would be an F1B "Double Doodle"; it can't be a labradoodle OR a goldendoodle, I think.
I am actually wondering why anyone would do this breeding, though? What are they hoping to accomplish? Chances are very high for shedding and an open face, and I don't know of any reputable breeders who are producing this particular mix.
I also think it would be a F1b reverse, not what you would want to breed unless you really like retrievers and would just like a little poodle mixed in. It is not what a reputable breeder would do, sounds like some back-yard breeding to me.
