I know no one is going to change their dog's name, because a lot of thought went into the name you picked for your dog. I have noticed that a couple of dogs on DK now have aliases, so it got me thinking and I decided to post this question. If you were forced to change your dog's name, what would you chose this time around?
I was in the huge minority when I picked Fudge's name, but I still love it. My sister went on and on for days that it sounded too much like another word and would not let it drop. Luckily, I never listen to her and it annoyed me enough that I was sure my puppy would be named Fudge. I might even have told her to "fudge off". If I was forced to change her name, this time around I would go with Penny (because of her color) or Cookie (because I love the food names).
Fudge, Penny, or Cookie?
Vern's name was chosen by my husband and it fits him so perfectly. Know what I mean, Vern? It is actually Vernors after the Midwest Ginger Ale. However, it I had to change it, maybe Harland (after Colonel Sanders, because it reminds me of chicken and Vern is a big chicken) or Mac (which could be short for Macaroni or Mack Truck). I also love Noodle, but that was vetoed by my DH.
Vern, Harland, Mac, or Noodle??

I love Fudge and Vern - I know exactly which doodle is being talked about when I hear those names. There are other names which I really like, example Murphy, but since there are several Murphy's, I have to think harder about which Murph is which :-)
My two are Webster & Charlotte (Charlotte's Web) but I wanted Riley or Crockett for Webster. I would still go with Crockett, especially since he has grown into quite the TN mountain man :-)
For Charlotte, it depends on whether Webster's name was changed. My choice would have been Webster & Willow. If Webster was Riley or Crockett, I would probably have named Charlotte Glory or Lilly (although Cameo was mentioned and I really like that name, too)I would not change Savannah's name, although she has about three names she responds to. Her #1 nickname, and the name we always seem to call her these days is Vanny. She also answers to "mommy's girl" and vannah-voo. The name Savannah seems so feminine to me and she is just so dainty and sweet, that i think sweet Savannah fits her perfectly.
I had several names vetoed by my husband when it came to name Raleigh. His name was almost Coal , but i wanted something to go with Savannah (hence the city name theme, and thus Raleigh). His full name is Raleigh-Durham, and i kind of wish we would have called him Durham as a first name with the nick name of "Ham" or "Hammy". He is quite the ham! His nickname these days is hubba bubba, and he responds to it! The only issue i have with Raleigh's name is people call him "Riley" all the time!
