Whoo Hoo Getting a Doodle!!!....But have a Question

I am soooo excited, we are getting a red mini doodle in the beginning of June from Marcia Mobley in Orlando. ( Bay Lake Doodles) She is 2 yrs old, we decided we didn't want a puppy, and after much research, and many hours on the phone and online and drooling over all your babies, lol, Marcia came thru for us. We are getting her sweet little girl Ruby Tuesday, and she sent us pictures of her yesterday. she is just sooo cute...We are waiting till June, since it is tax season, (hubby is an acc't) and I help out during season. Also then we will be up north for a week, so we will pick her up on our way home. It works out well because she is having a litter of pups in March, and then Marcia is going to have her fixed for us, so she will be able to nurse and then recover from surgery, and be ready for us. We are just so excited!!!!...But I do have a question, we have a 9 1/2 yr old Aussie that is just a sweetheart, we lost his cousin last year from old age, he was 13 1/2, and this guy has been so sad for so long now. He was not the alpha by a long shot, the other dog was, and since it has been a year, any ideas how we should introduce the new baby to our older one? I want them to get along, and I am sure they will, just want to do the right thing for both of them meeting for the 1st time. Thanks in advance for the advice....Cheryl

I have no advice to add; just encouragement. My lab mix is Australian Shepherd and lab. He isn't an alpha dog either. He has always been great with puppies. New pups have come into his life when he was 2, then 5, then 6, then 7 and now at 10. He is really nurturing yet tells them what's up. He plays with Ned, our new pup, and corrects him. I'll bet your guy will love her. Best wishes.

thanks for the encouragement. Well she is not a pup, she is 2 yrs old, but I am hoping that all will be well, it should be, he was great with my other one, so I am hoping all will be well with a new dog....
