Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hi all,
I'm choosing between 2 red males-they're F1B's. At 4-5 weeks, the one I thought I wanted was a red and looked like he'd get nice & wavy by 9 weeks. Here he is at 7 weeks & his face doesn't look nearly as wavy as I thought it would. He almost doesn't look like the same dog! His siblings are much more wavy--like the 3rd picture.

OMD, they are both so adorable! You can lose no matter which one you choose:)
His hair looks fairly long on his paws and he has some decent facial hair too. I think he'll be an obvious doodle, maybe not as thick coated or long as SOME, but I don't think he'll look like a 'just' a retriever.
OMD....you can't go wrong either way.....adorable.
Jess, We love Banjo to the ends of the earth...and it has nothing to do with his looks (although we do think he's a cutie pie). My advice is if you trust your breeder and she is trying to match you up with the right dog...go with her. We never met Banjo in person before getting him. I'll be honest with you...just before we were to get him, the breeder sent us a final picture of him and we both thought...OMD...what a weird looking little dog this is!!!! I actually had second thoughts. This sounds incredibly shallow and I'm so ashamed to admit this. The moment he came into my arms, I was in love and it's only gotten better.
Here's Banjo then.
Banjo was and is beautiful!
Thanks Robin.
Thanks Carol! That makes me feel better--of course they're both cute, I guess I was thinking he'd have more wave so I was surprised he didn't. Something is just drawing me into how he's always looking into the camera with those big eyes! He was my first instinct choice, so maybe I'll follow that!
My breeder said they both have good personalities, she thinks the bigger one is slightly dominant just because he's bigger than his siblings, but doesn't think he's truly a dominant pup. I definitely questioned her when she said "dominant", as I wanted a middle of the road guy. She said she'll keep any eye on them for me and she's going to send out more about the personalities before we pick up at 9 weeks.
I'm sure I'll see more wave on that one in 2 weeks, since they are F1B's rather than F1's. Banjo is a F1 correct?
Yes, Banjo is F1. Please share pics when you finally get your pup! Such an exciting time.
OMD! I don't think a bad decision could be made! I'll take your left overs! ;)
These puppy pics are making my heart go "pitta, patta."
