I might be guilty of being a little like the over-enthusiastic person in the post. I try to remember to ask "is your dog friendly" or I watch for friendliness in the other dog but spotting a yellow ribbon on the leash will make it so much easier!

We've discussed this before but I have yet to see a dog with one.

my best friends actually rescued a chihuahua/jack russell mix - that thing is temperamental, angry, possessive, snatches things, believes all food is hers, bites people who are not my two friends.  One of them found out about this yellow ribbon thing, so far it has been of no benefit to them, no one else knows what it means.

There's a sign by the road at the entrance to my neighborhood and I have yet to see a dog with one :p

Great Idea.Hope this message gets out to the public in all areas.ALL people need to know this "Y

ellow Ribbon" message!

I LOVE the Yellow Ribbon Project.  I would like to see more postings about it so the word gets out.

Just in this discussion on the front page today, this poor puppy would benefit from people NOT approaching her dog. Let the dog slowly take in life. Let it enjoy walks.  Let it walk in peace without a paparazzi of humans cooing and touching and....

It is a good idea, but not universally known so it isn't useful.  Perhaps eventually the word will get out to enough people to be truly helpful.

I have seen this posted on here so many times but just like F, I have never seen a dog with one on anywhere.

I do agree it's such a great idea but I wonder why it doesn't seem to get off the ground and running in some areas. I've never heard anything about it except for here. I tried to spread the word at work but no one seemed too interested... sad:(

I think because, people with dogs who may be shy, or shy then bite, or sick dogs, or whatever, have a horrible time trying to go out and walk their dogs.  The dogs hate it, the people hate it.  Too much can happen, so they shelter in home.

If this would catch on, maybe people would feel comfortable to go out and enjoy a walk or the day, or a hike.

If you have a dog like this, you are always on alert. You are always paranoid someone will reach out and touch your dog while you are not watching. It really is... an ordeal.

So, keep spreading the word. I think it is a great idea.

The more people know, the less likely they will be afraid to venture out.

I shared it on FB. I don't know when people tried this last but perhaps social media will help this time. I'm glad I know about it now. If I see someone who asks me to stay away from their dog, I'll tell them about it.
