You warned it would happen..dog bed related

I bought a dog bed...she won't use it!!! I see people who have said their doodles prefer the cold tile floor. Some say right out of the box, they LOVE their bed!  Ours will lay on the dog bed for a while and then get off to go to the carpet or tile. She is discoloring the carpet!! My husband won't let her on the couches or beds except my daughters bed...  so it's not like she is snoozing in chairs or on the sofa!  Do I give it more time, exchange for a different fabric or return the bed and forget about it?  I thought with her bad hips, the dog bed would be a better place than the hard carpet .

YUP! We have a closet full of beds! We say maybe they will like this one instead, they NEVER use them. The ONLY time they used anything was when they were in crates and even then, Myla would have only half her body on them. Lots of money sitting in that closet!!! Now we say, maybe when they are older. These doodles need their own closet for all their garb!

But isn't it amazingly wonderful how our doodles just take over our lives and homes. I can't get enough of my little girl!

Some dogs don't like them, but we found it was all about the RIGHT bed for Peri. Round bolster type (kind of like a donut) from Costco did the trick. Peri panics if it is not out at night. She literally makes whining noises.  We take it to boarding and my parents house when we are out of town.  She must have her bed at night :)

Love all the photos.  Our doodle also prefers the tile floor initially.  But sometime during the night he comes up on our bed and stretches against the footboard, tummy up, under the ceiling fan which is directly above this area and generally on to circulate air.  I too have bought several beds and he really is not crazy about any of them.  At this point I think two of them are being stored under a spare bedroom bed!
