We're new to the Tacoma area but make it up to Seattle at least a couple times a week, especially on weekends, and we bring Bernie as often as we can - it's a good excuse to walk the different neighborhoods or check out new dog parks. But last Monday we met up with some friends at their local pub and the entire time we all wished Bernie could join us. The place was small and the bartender would have let us bring him in but the woman taking over his shift wasn't so keen.

He recommended Norm's Eatery and Ale House.

And it's been the find of the decade! Norm's is in the Fremont neighborhood and they welcome people and their dogs with open arms. Norm, in fact, was a much loved yellow lab from what we could decipher.

They have a full bar, a pretty solid beer list and decent wines considering the diner atmosphere. The food we had was really good, upscale diner food, and one of my "cat people" who lives in Seattle has said they have an awesome breakfast on the weekends.

Hello Amy and Bernie

I also have a Doodle and live in Fremont.  The Fremont Brewery is another sweet place to drink fantastic beer with your best friend.  It is an old wharehouse and they happily allow dogs and have home made dog treats.

Ruby and I are interested in Doodle Romps in the area.  We love Magneson and Marymoore.

Nikki

That's great news Nikki! The brewery is now on our short list, thank you. If you have a favorite park and plan to go this weekend or the next please let me know!

Thanks Amy

I'm working this weekend, but I know my husband was thinking of heading out to Marymoore.  Otherwise I could meet up with you the following week.   I also love to go to Richmond Beach.  Its not a dog park but seems okay to let your dog roam the beach.  I've been going there for years.  There is also a nice dog park up near Shoreline Community and attached a lot of walking trails through acres of park.  It is called Boeing Creek.

All great info, thank you so much! My husband and I are open, so if your husband is going anyway please let us know. If he'll be playing it by ear, no pressure whatsoever! We can certainly plan something for the next weekend. The beach sounds fun and Bernie has only a couple water experiences under his belt, he'd love it and it would be great for entertainment purposes =)
Sounds good.  I will speak with him tonight and get back to you.  The weekend looks like good weather :)  It is always more fun when the Doodles get to hang out with one another.

Hi Amy

Doesn't look like he wants to commit to a time.  I'm sure there will be other Doodles there though.  Hopefully the sun will be out!

No worries Nikki, I don't blame him! We're actually going to our first Doodle romp on Sunday, it's at Marymoor park! We're really excited =)
What time?  I'll mention it to him in case it works into his weekend schedule.  Wish I was off!

It's from 1:00-3:00, about a dozen people have RSVP'd on MeetUp so far. It's through the "Seattle Labradoodle /Goldendoodle Romp Meetup Group". A mouthful!

Hopefully this link works:

Thanks, yes it did work.  Hopefully Ruby can come out and play!  Thanks for the info Amy :)  Hope to meet you some time.
Ditto! =)
Hi Amy & Bernie, Thanks so much for the tip on Norm's! My husband Steven and I are driving from Portland to Seattle this weekend to spend some time at the Seattle Boat show. We try to go every year, but this will be our first time taking Sammi (our Australian Labradoodle) with us. We found a pet friendly hotel at which to stay and now because of your timely tip, we've got at least one local dog friendly place where we can eat! How great is that!?! Thanks again! Summer Smiles
