Does anyone have any vet recommendations for the Portland area? We just moved here from Seattle & have yet to find a vet to replace our stellar vet (Maple Leaf Veterinary Care Center) in Seattle. We tried Rose City Veterinary Hospital after recommendations from some friends/reading some reviews but my super friendly, fearless dog is terrified of the place. (I had to drag him in the door & he loved our vet in Seattle so it's not a "I hate getting shots/the smell of the vet thing."). Ideally we'd like a vet on the eastern side of the city.

Thanks.

We have used the Banfield location in Tigard and swear by them. They love us there and can't get enough of Doodle lovin. There are people who refer to Banfield as the Kaiser of Vets. Our vet understands the comparison and even says there are good and bad locations. She says that their location in Tigard is one of the most respected in the NW. We like the doggie wellness plans they have and the convienence of Petsmart right next door. We usually multi-task while at the vet.

I just asked my mentor breeder from OregonLabradoodles and she has used Dr. Schultz from Meridian Park Vet in Tualatin for all her dogs. She has been going there for years and can't stop raving about his services. She keeps trying to get us to switch vets but it's kind of like a hairdresser, you feel obligated to be loyal since they are like family now.
Thanks for the rec!

BTW: LOVE the puppy photos! They're so chunky with their stubby little noses :o)
Hi! We live in Lake Oswego (on the SW west side of town) and LOVE Parkway Veterinary Hospital. It's worth the drive ;-)
Thanks for the rec! I was hoping for something a little closer to us (we live in inner SE, just south of Ladd's Addition)--not just for convenience but also in case we ever have an "emergency" it's nice to be closer cause you never know when they'll happen or if it's during rush hour...yes, call me paranoid....
I have a friend who is a vet in Portland, he specializes in canine dermitology, but also does all of the standard vet care you would expext. Very caring, loves his doggies. His name is Darryl Lieu. Last name might be spelled Leu I entered it both ways. #503-502-3763 Daryl's clinic is attached to his home, so might be an easier transition for your super friendly dog. Daryl is a personal friend of mine and I live in Port Orchard so I have not gone to him professionally. I have called him from time to time for advice and watched him travel to California with meds for my friends dog. He was incredible to watch so gentle and caring with the sick doggie. My friend could not afford ongoing meds to treat her dog so Daryl sent them to her monthly for the dogs life...no charge. Love him!

We live in Portland. I love Pet Samaritan, which is in close-in NE Portland. We are getting our doodle in 7 weeks and my vet has personally responded to multiple calls I've had regarding spay/neuter questions and raised several questions she thought it would be good to ask breeders. I've been impressed with Dr. Ewing and all the staff. Our kitty has had a couple of surgeries in the past year and theyve taken god care of him.
