Help with downloading pics

Hi all.  I'm new to DK and to this group.  Excited to see all the pics and to add some of my own as well.  I've figured out how to add pics to my page and as attachments to discussions.  Would appreciate some tips on how to have the pics show up full size.  I did try clicking on the image link but it seems to take forever to load and I ended up cancelling.  Did I just not wait long enough?  Thanks!

Bigger files seem to take a long time, I usually resize my pic to 800 megapixels or less.

HI Donna.  I resized my pix and am still having difficulty loading them.  How long does a pic usually take (I cancelled after 3 or 4 minutes).

Jess, are you using Explorer 9? When I upgraded to 9 my pics wouldn't load and I ended up going back to Explorer 8. Uploading one pic usually takes a few seconds and when you upload more of course it takes longer. There is a simple uploader option you can use to upload 8 pics at a time. Sometimes when I upload photos, I just open another browser window for the main page and go back to the other page when I think they are loaded, the wait doesn't seem quite as long that way.

I'm not sure.  I'll check.  I can add pix without any problems to albums.  where I'm having trouble is adding pixs to discussion boxes.  I'd like to share pix in the photography group but can't figure out how to add them.  Help is appreciated  :)

Are you using the little image icon next to the link icon? That is the easiest way to do it. This little pic was almost instant. It was in the discussions that I had trouble with Explorer 9 as well.

Yes, I was using that icon.  Looks like for some strange reason, McAfee is blocking the upload.  Really strange because it doesn't block anything else at all.  I'll play around with it and see if I can make it work.  If not, I guess I'll be contributing attachments.  ;(

I had trouble uploading (downloading is what comes to your computer) a while back and pictures loaded slowly or more often not at all . In my case I think it was an internet provider problem. But you do have to give it some time. The pictures are downsized in terms of pixels but seem fine.
