The 2 weeks idea sounds good. Plus, the discussions will stay around even after the assignment is over, so if someone got behind, or joined the group later, they could still go back and read through stuff and submit photos if they wanted.

This is a good idea Mandy. Unless you have already taken a photography class, I don't think most people know this rule, and it applies no matter what type of camera a person uses. Framing a subject naturally, or following a line, say of a fence etc. and how it draws you into the picture........
I also think it is a good idea for people that have had instruction in a class, etc, to provide specific info defining the rule of thirds; leading lines, etc so people that don't know what this is won't have to try to do all the research themselves--or at least provide links to photo composition info . . .
The thing about having two week increments is that if one happens to be busy (big party, graduation, wedding, holiday, sickness, company) it wouldn't be for the entire month but might be for the two weeks. I know that I tried quite a few times to get Aperture down and I did make some progress but it took me all month. I got feedback and asked questions. I didn't feel rushed, and enjoyed spending the time. I would hate to feel that I just rushed from one assignment to another because this is supposed to be fun not work.
Mandy Solner, who has offered to do the February assignment, has left me a message that she hopes to post this on Sunday. I am sure she will give some consideration to suggestions for future assignments as well. So we get a week off : )
Thank you for letting us know when the next assignment will be given. I was hoping that we were going to continue with the lessons. It is great that others are willing to share their expertise. Can't wait until Sunday:0)
