I thought it might be fun to have a thread where we can post interesting images we catch in reflections of raindrops, windows, sides of cars, mirrors, whatever...
A couple years ago, we had a crazy rainstorm, where it was pouring down in buckets one minute, and then it suddenly lifted and was bright and sunny. I took my camera outside and snapped a couple shots. Just before I hit the delete button on this rather boring image of a bare tree branch, I decided to flip it over and take a closer look at it. Much to my surprise, i discovered a reflection of the homes on my street - even my neighbor's truck parked in his driveway - all captured in that teeny, tiny little raindrop!
Wow, amazing. I have some but will have to dig out my CDs that I stored them on and locate them. Hopefully I will get it done in the next day or two so I can post them. Oh, I do have one that I did recently at a photography class I was taking in Balboa Park. The California Pacific Exposition was here in San Diego in 1935-36 and the buildings were specifically built for it. They are reflected in the Fire Engine door.
Simply amazing! I may never delete anything again : ) It reminds me somehow of a carved rosary bead in a museum, The Cloisters in Manhattan, in what was my local park growing up. The bead is about the size of a walnut and there is a crucifixion scene with a crowd of people carved inside in great detail on a miniscule scale.
