We won't even get into weave pole training in Rua's Puppy Agility Sampler class, but the instructor let everyone know that if they wanted to buy some weave poles, one of her students had some for sale (their dog was just a bit too rambunctious for them).

They bought them for $60.00 plus $10.00 S/H...see the link below for a picture of what they looked like.  In fact, they hadn't even put the tape on yet.

They were offering them for $40.00, which I thought was pretty good.  SInce I just finished making the jump bar, I thought I would price out what material I would need and if it was worth doing it myself.

I just took a look at how the weave poles looked and came up with my own list.  They are supposed to be 24" apart so I took that into account for the ground sections (tees & crosses contribute to the overall spacing).

Material list using 3/4" PVC - :

Qty 4 @ 10' pieces cut as follows (use PVC cutter is you have one or hacksaw or ask Home Depot/Lowes, etc to cut for you):

  Qty 8 @ 12" for legs

  Qty 2 @ 6" for first/last ground sections

Qty 3 @ 22.5" for full ground sections

Qty 4 @ 10.5" for sections on either side of the two cross leg supports

Qty 14 end caps

Qty 8 Tees

Qty 2 Crosses

Vinyl tape

It cost me ONLY $19.75 (including tax, I already had the tape).   I am sure if I waited for PVC to go on sale or shopped around I could have saved a few $$$ more.

I cut it and put together on my deck yesterday afternoon - it didn't take me long at all.  This will work inside or outside.  Because it isn't glued (also allows for it to be taken apart and moved) you can adjust the angle of the poles when you start training on weave poles.

I really enjoyed doing it.  Rua played in her little pool on the deck while I worked on it!  I am thrilled with how they turned out.

Wow you did great.  I also saw your "high jump" in the back ground.  They look a lot lighter and more portable than the wooden ones I use to drag around in the late '70s when trying to finish a CDX.
You are such a handy woman!!
