Gracie has been in advanced agility training all summer. She started kind of slow than got excited about the games. Then she began backing down. She seems to be having no fun now. She does not run around the course fast now, seeming like it is a chore. And in our very short backyard practices she has that drive and seems to enjoy it. Honestly I can't tell
a) if she does not like it
b) it's too hot to run around (practice drills are inside but the course is outside)
c) she has poor instruction from me
d) she seems sensitive and may not like any corrections
Any thoughts of how to figure this out? I have no burning desire to keep her in it, we are doing it for fun and to work together. I am thinking about quitting at the end of this session. Could this all be weather related? It is very hot and humid here.
Hi Tammy,
I think it is weather related. Parris is very sensitive to the heat. She slows WAY down in the summer. Our agility training takes August off because it is so hot. I would continue at least until the weather gets cooler so you can judge. Good luck. Let me know how it goes.
