Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi! Our wavy fleece coated doodle is ready for her first grooming. Can anyone recommend a groomer in Anchorage with experience doing Labradoodles?

What is the best way to describe how to trim a doodle?

Thanks!!

Sharon,
I've heard that a doodle groomer in anchorage is$90 so I've never taken racey. I bought a grooming kit at petco and trim racey myself. The grooming kit was $75.
Sorry not the most helpful response but at least you know people aren't ignoring your post.

I've noticed this post is old but I'm new to DK. Anyway, there is a good groomer (but expensive) Maggie at Hair of the Dog in So. Anch. She hand-sissored Picco which is very time consuming so, hence the high cost - $100+. She did a great job but I just can't afford it. She has her own Labradoodle, that is how I met her. Now I'm trying to keep up on his grooming myself.

I've taken my Doodle to many groomers around Eagle River and Anchorage.  They all seem to cut him like a poodle (which I hate) or shave him.:(    Even after sharing pictures of what I wanted.  Would love to find one who knows how to cut them naturally.

You can see my post above.  I no longer live in the area and Maggie at Hair of the Dog was my only experience.  She is a quirky woman but she knows the difference between a poodle & a doodle.
