Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I thought this would be an interesting topic for our light color doodles.
I've noticed Mochi's chin color was not pretty, it was never too bad but still not pretty. I know it's from his saliva. His paw furs were also orange/reddish because he chewed on them. He was on Orijen for 2 years. (see the picture he was with the angry birds)
After I switched him to Taste of the Wild (went through 2 big bags), I've noticed I no longer need to try hard washing his dirty chin and paws or trim a bit of the dirty hair to cheat. (see the picture he was on beach with Latte).
We now have him on Instinct (it's also high quality food like Orijen but has less protein), but the dirty chin and paw furs are coming back! It's still not as bad as when he was on Orijen, but maybe just not yet.
After this bag of food I might to switch him back to Taste of the Wild and see if the color goes away.
Do you think it's food related? what food are your doodles on and do they have reddish chin? attaching a recent photo would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the photos Carla. Izzy's getting so cute!! Love that car harness too. I just started using those on Mochi and Latte.
I'm not even sure the chin color is related to food they eat, just something I've noticed. Last time I was giving Mochi a haircut, including the fur under and between his paws, there was no any reddish hair so I was surprised, and that's when realized it might be the food change.
