Absolutely!
Thank you Camilla and F! It feels good to be doing some artwork again. :)
These are amazing, Linda. I find portraits so difficult to do.....skin for me is a real challenge. You know I love your seed pot....all that contrast is wonderful! I'm so glad you're "back"!
Thank you, Jane. It feels great to be back! I am such a fan of your artwork - especially your flower pieces! Portraits are really difficult for me, too. Fur is much easier to work with than skin, that's for sure! lol!
I look forward to exploring some new techniques this summer, both digitally and traditionally. I watched a YouTube video on how to make your own "Gelli" pad for printmaking. It actually worked! My granddaughter, Jenna, dove right in and made some prints that came out great. Fun stuff!
Thank you, Kyoko! :)
We really enjoy the painting of Charlie and have shown it to so many people. They always ask if I did it and I need to tell them no, but someday I hope to be able to paint that well. Wish we still had that jacket. The leather sleeves and collar were from a jacket my husband found in a dumpster when we lived in Germany. Ahh, memories!
I'm so happy to hear this, Lynda! And what a delightful "memory" of that jacket! lol! I sure hope that I will have more time to enjoy painting in 2015...
Charlie used to love to make clothes from whatever he could find. He made us both full leather motorcycle clothing. The first present I bought for him was a sewing machine (in Germany). He also made our leather furniture from aged oak (40 years) and brown leather hides. Our table and benches were made from sections of an old bowling alley. Always something interesting at our house.
That's awesome! He sounds a fun, creative guy!
It has been 3 1/2 years since you did this painting of Charlie and we love it dearly. His father had it for a while, then his sister, and now we have it because they have passed away. A very cherished painting. Are you up for doing more? I photographed a wedding this summer in Texas and made a Smilebox and Shutterfly book of the wedding and wanted to also do a giclee. The photo they liked best was from a professional photographer and they sent it to me at 56 kb (not at all useful for a giclee). But it might be one you could paint and then I could make a giclee. Also a friend's brother passed away and she has a photo of her mother and brother that she would like made into a giclee. I still am not a great painter, but absolutely love your painting. Would you consider doing either of these?
Hi Linda ~ I again went through this complete thread and wanted to tell you that I so enjoy looking at your work. You have a style all your own. Thank you for sharing your amazing talents with us!
