Looking for an older puppy

I have looked at the dogs for adoption, and I am still looking. My boyfriend however really wants a dog under the age of 1 but older than 4 months. Like I said, I am not excluding those for adoption because I would love to rescue one, however if there is a breeder out there with a puppy that was given back or you just haven't sold one, I would love to know! Thanks so much. Also, if this does not belong here, please let me know and I will kindly remove it and place it in the correct place.
