Okay, it has been suggested that I start a discussion about mini ALDs :-)) Let's hear from other mini ALD owners out there. Time to be counted!

Hi Nancy, I have some mini Australian Labradoodles. I breed primarily minis, but one of my girls is a medium, so I also get some of those. I have an itsy bitsy mini right now that is only going to be about 15 pounds at maturity. She's SO cute. So, you have an affinity for the minis???
Hi Crystal,
Yes, I like the mini's portability! And with this breed, it's like you get the best of both: a big dog in a little dog's body :-))
Hi Nancy, well I had to measure-my two are Mini's for sure. Duncan is right at the 16' mark and 30ish pounds (lg.mini) and Brianna is just over 14' and 16 pounds (mini-mini) I love this size and they are absolutely wonderful dogs as far as their temperament. We have four little girls at home that just love the stuffins out of our doodles, and the doodes are so loving, gentle, smart and fun with the kiddo's...perfect match for us!
The Fabulous Mr. Fionn Mac Cuhaill (AKA Finn) BIG NAME, small doggy! Finn is a chocolate/white parti piece. He is 16" and weighs in at pproximately 251bs (Give or take a few spoons of peanut butter). One other thing; he is TBDITW - It's official! (ask Adina).
Please add Jasper to the list of minis. He is a beautiful red male.
Hi there, we also have minis, one girl born at our house ended up only 12 1/2 inches as an adult. We also have mediums, and I almost like that size better myself, but you can't beat the temperament no matter what size you have!!! We should have another litter of minis early in '11, then mom retires. Hopefully I will have a girl to hang on to and keep the line going.
Add Rooney to the list of mini ALDs. We pick him up on Oct. 30th - he'll be almost 11 wks old. His parents are both minis although he dad is on the larger end of the scale for a mini. We believe (but won't know for sure) that Rooney will also be on the larger end of the mini scale.

Our mini ALD named Ruby just turned 1 year old on March 20. She is a wonderful dog! She is barely 20 pounds. Breeder said she should be close to 30 as an adult.

Bindi is a mini or medium ALD she is 27 pounds, I think she is 16', I'm not quite sure how to measure her her because when I asked my vet he said only show dogs are measured.

Any an all dogs are measured from the very highest point of their withers.   The most accurate way to do this is to place a level on top of their withers and measure from the bottom of the level.  It helps to have two people.

BTW.. you may need a new vet.

So what is considered Mini?  I have an ALD and he seems mini to me, but I think he is more the normal size for a ALD.  My other dogs were so much larger (Hondo was 105 pounds, Groucho Too is 90 pounds), that Harpo at 43 pounds and 21 inches tall seems small to us.  Is that the normal size for an ALD or is he a mini?
