I remember that feeling well, and it hasn't changed much even after several haircuts now. Just be sure to give VERY SPECIFIC instructions. Do not assume the groomer knows how to cut a doodle. Also make sure there are NO matts prior to taking Boo. I would also tell them if for any reason they feel the need to shave any part of Boo to just stop and call you first, NO SHAVING! Boo is adorable and looks quite a bit like our Lucy.

great advice from Lucy. Bring a pic of another doodle cut that you do like and that way, no mistakes. A friend of mine got 86'd from a grooming shop because she said "that's not my dog, where is my dog?" when they brought her doodle out to her. They had butched her! so pictures are preferable. Good luck and will be peeking for the after shot!~ Eva
I love you call her Boo... And she is sooo pretty ! We call all of ours Boo along with their names, as ours always seem to make boo-boo's... LOL, anyway, Boo's hair looks so much like Toby's, is her's matted under all those curls? Just curious, I'm still dealing with the matting and he's almost 2, sometimes I feel like i'll have to pull alol his hair out by the roots!
She doesn't have tangles or matted areas, that I have found... But my husband enjoys brushing her almost as much as she likes him doing it... Can you picture her with her back leg wiggling and her eyes rolling back in her head? (she LOVES being brushed.)
She is SOOOOOOO cute. I have a black doodle - Gabbi - and she looks very similiar. From my experience - remind the groomer that she is NOT a poodle - and to only use scissors on her...no shaving around the face. Gabbi's first haircut was OK - but her face got shaved a little and she lost that tussled look. (They did do a sanitary shave on her underside - helps keep her clean. Good luck...Post an after picture, too!
I DID specifically tell the groomer that I don't want her to look like a poodle! And I printed the instructions that someone on doodlekisses pointed me to and I took pictures for Boo and my toy poodles who also went today. It was the best grooming experience we've had in years. (and it was our first visit to this paticular groomer. We'll be using them again!)
Just got her home and the groomer did an awesome job on Boo and the two toy poodles! I'll post pictures tomorrow. (when the light's good again.) Thanks, everyone for all the advice. It worked!
She's still pretty fuzzy. It's still pretty cold here, so I guess I'm happy that they didn't cut her hair too short... She doesn't look that different to me... I'm relieved. lol
