Looks like they did a great job. Not going too short on the 1st haircut is great, let's you get used to it as it gets shorter. Now as you approach summer, the next cut can be a little shorter and then a little shorter for summer. I've taken our Lucy down to 1 inch on her body and 2 inches on her legs. The key to the doodle body (in my opinion) is keeping the legs longer with a smooth transition from the body to the legs (that and a great doodle face). I don't think I would take Lucy any shorter than 1 inch though. I also don't have them shave the tummy, but do cut it shorter. Boo looks great!
Thanks! It's been 6 weeks since she was groomed. It's time for her to go again already. And I think this time we're getting a "summertime" haircut. It might be a little dramatic... or traumatic! lol
Have you gotten her summer cut yet! You will find that the black really absorbs the sun in the summer time. Lucy will get hot to the touch from the sun. I noticed it again this past week-end when it was only in the 70's. I'd touch her fur on her back and it was hot, and I'd touch Sophie's (who is apricot) and she wouldn't be hot to the touch.
Oh yeah, she got her summertime cut a week ago. She seems very happy, not panting ALL the time. She even sits on the couch with me now, in the evening. She used to hang out on the cool tile floor...
Wow, she looks just wonderful.. i'm in the midst of de-matting again, and as always, it's not going to happen this next time :-). but for Toby, I really do do think 2 inches will have to be max for him for awhile.
