I want to get some fabulous pictures of my sweetie what would you recomend?

After 7 1/2 months, I was only today was able to take some decent photos of my black doodle. I placed him outside in in afternoon light when the sun was low and here's the real secret....I turned off the auto exposure on my camera. I overrode the setting to a 100 ISO - if you're old enough, think back to the days with film cameras when you had to choose what type of film to buy based on your setting. The photos came out much better than anything I had taken to date. Good luck. Black doodles are really hard to capture in print. Most of my photos are all black fur and pink tongue.
As you can see, I am the worst picture taker in the group I'm sure. But I like that I got any. I think being close or zooming in is a must!

I would recommend a white background or outside. When Bella was young (4mon.) we couldnt get a good photo of her but now that she is a year old and 11mon. The photos come out better, you can see her face.
