I liked it (Fall on Your Knees) but it is not the book for everyone. If you are looking for an entertaining book, this is not it. I felt a little bit like a "man hater" after reading it, but it was a good book for me. I'm strong, but it is amazing what happens within families.
Finished that, and now I'm reading "The Girl Who Played With Fire." Have you see The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo movie? It's in Swedish, so it's subtitled, but I heard it was good. Apparently they are going to make an American movie version soon, too.
I read the first book (Dragon Tattoo) over a weekend and now at the final few chapters of the second book. If you enjoy crime stories and mysteries, this series is a MUST READ!
The film is good too, it follows very very closely to the original story.
Has anyone else read "Alex and Me" by Irene Pepperberg? It's the nonfiction account of a researcher and her work with a grey parrot. It'll have you thinking differently about what animal minds are capable of, that's for sure! Amazing what she learned about the bird's ability to understand communication and concepts...anyone interested at all in animal cognition would like it. A pretty quick read I'd say.
I'm reading "The Art Of Racing In The Rain", by Garth Stein, an author from Seattle, WA. The novel is written from a dog's perspective, and is very moving, humorous in spots, and heart gripping.
