My choice was The Rosy Project by Graeme Simsion. Which is touted as Bill Gates' favorite novel and which he described as "profound". It introduces the world to Don Tillman, a socially inept professor of genetics so wedded to his schedule that it has so far precluded becoming wedded to an actual woman! That any prospective partner must complete a mandatory 16-page compatibility questionnaire narrows his options somewhat; until he meets Rose who scores precisely zero but confirms the theory that opposites attract. I am 3/4 of the way through and I am finding this a quick, terrific and very entertaining read. Any one else read it?

Loved it and I think I commented on it here in the comments section. I remember F asking me about it.
I loved it too Karen. I did not see the previous comments so had to go back and read. I hope the Rosie continuation will not be disappointing.
Just to help others find it, the title is The Rosie Project. It's going to be a movie, too.
Yep, I did comment on it in a previous discussion: http://www.doodlekisses.com/forum/topics/what-are-you-reading-now?g...
The first book I read this year was Invisible World by Stuart Cohen. It is an older book, copyright 1998, and somebody gave it to me last year. I will be getting Saint Odd, an Odd Thomas novel by Dean Koontz this weekend. It is the conclusion to his Odd Thomas series and comes out this week. I am a big Dean Koontz fan and have read all of his books, but I do like the Frankenstein and Odd Thomas series books. Amazingly, there are no book stores here in Monterey County and I have to go up to Santa Cruz or Santa Clara counties to get a new book. Actually, there is a book store in Carmel that has some newer book, so I just may go there.
Do you have a library close - my husband is an avid reader (4 - 6 a month) and he downloads free from the library here. They do get all the bestsellers quickly and it is a very reasonable way to go for people who read a lot. I let him be a filter for me and only read the best sellers he knows I would enjoy. I have to admit, I read about 12 - 15 books a year is all. I am thinking about reading the Odd Thomas series.
I really enjoyed the whole series by Dean Koontz. Have to get the last book and may be over in Carmel soon. Really upsets me that all the book stores in this area have closed.
I found out there is a used book store here in Salinas that can order new books for you. I went in to order Saint Odd and ended up buying a whole armful of used books. Saint Odd comes in today, so I have plenty of reading to do. Anybody read any of these books? Legacy: The Treaty of Little Big Horn by Ward Garing (time travel back to Little Big Horn), The Help by Kathryn Stockett, Breaking Dawn and Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer. Well, I have plenty of reading to do now.
I haven't read this one, but it sounds like one I want to read. I just finished the latest J.A. Jance and Diana Mott Davidson books. Both quick and escapist reads.
Nancy it is an enjoyable super quick read with a good ending!
going on Amazon to look for used right now! Not a penny yet, but I put both The Rosy Project and The Rosy Effect on my wish list.
