You are bang on Kathyrn - I just spoke to the vet and they told me the same thing! Oh well...poor Scooby will have to rest at home while the kids and I have fun at the beach. Not many more warm days like this left so have to take advantage!

Diane - speaking from a medical pespective, I wouldn't do the beach today. IThey should be calm for at least a week - 2 if possible.
If he is anything like Nelson, the temptation to zoom through the sand is too great.
And I wouldn't want to get any sand in the healng wound. I think that is more theissue than the water. My vet said he could swim the day after he wanted to. (He didn't).

LOL cone of shame I like that - have not seen "Up"...Scooby is doing so much better, no more shame and back to himself! Scooby completed his obedience 1 a couple of weeks ago, I just have to remember to continue to practice, practice, practice, and have treats on hand at all times otherwise forget about it....
Rocky is soooo adorable! Just wondering if I met your pups - did you get them before or after June 5th? There were 3 left when we picked up Scooby.
Question: Want to go back to the beach this afternoon but I'm not sure if it's a good idea since he was neutered on Tuesday....He's not crazy about the water, so I could just let him walk in it but not let him go deep at all...what do you think, maybe I should call the vet...

Hello Ladies! This is Rocky one of the brothers!! he also had the Cone of shame this week! but is doing well back to himself! Hope to find more members of the group.keep me posted on how everyone is doing!

Oh - poor Scooby - in the "cone of shame". I trust that you saw the movie "Up". We had Nelson at the beach again today- this time - he ran straight for the water (lake water - so a bit smelly). He graduated from obedience 1 this week - an exciting moment for me - he was not impreseed.

Oh I think that would be great for Nelson to have a playmate! How exciting! I'll have to check out Kerry's website for photos of the new pups! So we went to the beach with Scooby on Sunday for the first time! He was so excited to see all the other dogs! I did notice he likes the water but he doesn't LOVE it like I expected him to. How is Nelson around water? We went to Good Harbor beach in Gloucester - first time we go there - just beautiful! Definitely will be going back! Scooby is doing okay although he looks pretty pathetic with the "lamp shade". Keep me posted on the new pup!

I was thinking that with this group, we might find some more siblings of theirs! I hope Scooby is recoveringok. Nelson was neutered in July and did failry well.
I thnk he is probably about the same weight as Scooby. I had him out running on the beach today and he loved it. I am thinking of getting another puppy to keep Nelson compna. Nelson & Scooby's parents just had pups on Saturday (9/18). I should probbaly have my head examined.

Hi Kathryn! So glad you started this group - hopefully we will find more litter mates! Scooby just went in to the vet this morning to get neutered. They recommend he stay calm for the next 2 weeks - not sure how we'll manage that with my 3 and 5 year old! :-) Have to pick him later this afternoon - so weird not having him in the house - I miss him already! :-) He got weighed today and he is already 39 lbs - can't believe how fast he's growing!! Hope you and Nelson are doing well!
