The top is a halter that velcros at the neck and under the belly. I used gabardine (1/4 yard for the skirt [enough for 2 smalls and/or mediums] and 1/2 yard for the top & belly straps [2 pieces for each top/strap - enough for 2 smalls and/or]. I bought a strip of fleece that had the team design I wanted and cut it out. 1 yard each of 2 colors of ribbon (1 wider than the other). Velcro.
This is the pattern I made (I did add 3/4" to the part that closes around the neck) for a SMALL!
Cut out the team design/logo/emblem you want out of fleece.
Pin logo to top and sew along the outside edge of one of the top pieces.
Fold strap in half, lengthwise, sew 1 short side and 1 long side, turn inside out. Repeat
Sew the two top pieces together except at the bottom, right sides together (first time I sewed the top and strap together after I had put the top together, the next time I placed in between the top pieces before I sewed them together). Cut curves to seam line, turn right side out, use a blunt pointed object to push out corners where needed (chopstick works great), press.
Center the narrow ribbon on top of the wider ribbon and sew together.
I used an overcast stitch around the curved part of the skirt and then sewed the ribbon along the curved edge.
Use long, gathering stitch along the straight edge of the skirt (don't backstitch the edges).
With right sides facing (skirt & top), pin the middle and two ends. Pull gathering thread until gathers are evenly distributed. Pin and then sew. Overcast stitch edge.
Add long strips of Velcro to belly straps and shorter strips to neck. I bought snag-free Velcro, which are a one-piece design includes hoot & loop. You cut two pieces and put gether. Reduces snagging and lint buildup!

Yes, as a matter of fact! I have an esty account set up, but I might use bellarua.com. I bought the domain but hadn't figured out what I wanted to do with it until last week!
What team does Lilly root for?
she roots for the food they serve:) I will buy a cowboy (sorry doug) and oregon ducks (if you do the duck one I will post on facebook..lots of oregon fans) dress. you may be able to quit work and sew doggy clothes..wouldn't that be sweet. Lilly and I will go to the festivals with you and sell them.. wouldn't that be a hoot..um..wonder if we can get a booth at the wine festival??
Thanks...when I get a chance, I'll have to work on creating a few varieties of patterns and make up a few dresses!
Thanks for the post, Dori. The instructions are great. My doodles are of the naked variety and I'm not a football fan but these are enough to make us think of converting. I hope some people make these and others hire you to make more. I am putting a link here to your original discussion so people can see your other handiwork.
