Yes, Gracie Doodle loves to stare out the window. She has two spots. In the living room she can screen the entire cul de sac. She watches for any of her dog friends to come out and then she will run through the house to find me and tell me she wants to go play. The dog across the street sits on the sofa and looks over at Gracie. They can see each other! She also likes to sit up on our bed. Our bedroom is in the front corner of the house right at the top of a hill. I pull the blinds up during the day. Gracie sits there and can view all the houses down the hill and watch every car that comes up the hill. Her two best friends (the Springers in my photos) live down the hill. Gracie watches for them. She even knows the car and when it pulls in the driveway, Gracie lets out a happy squeal and comes to get me. You should see the nose prints on my windows!!! What is really funny is when the dogs are out in front chasing a ball. My living room has two long windows that meet in the corner. Gracie will run like she is chasing the ball when it is thrown. She goes back and forth tracking the ball. Silly girl!
Oh yes....she sits there while we get ready in the morning. Our windows are floor to ceiling and we overlook a putting green, so there is never a shortage of entertainment for Lady Peri. It is pretty cute. Here is a photo of her doing it a few months ago so she is bigger now :) I added another one when she was probably 7 weeks old - the last visit to the breeders house before picking her up at 9 weeks. I am sad looking at my little girl. She has gotten so big!
Oh ya... it is a must for a Doodle!!! Right now our X-mas tree is blocking a clear view and Cagney has been trying to squeeze through a blockade of chairs at both sides of the chair to get at the window.... needless to say a few ornaments got chewed up as he was a little pissed off that his favorite window was blocked.... so much for my hanging balls...one by one they are ending up on the floor...Lesson learned...you can't block a Doodles view!
I live in a condo, and none of my windows have a view of the street. But in the summer, if my bedroom window is open, he likes to sit on the bed and stare out that window for awhile before going to sleep. Halas has stayed at a friend's house a couple of times when I've been out of town. The first thing he does at their house is get on the couch and push the curtains out of the way. They said he'll sit there for a good part of the day and just stare out the window and "woof" if he sees anything new. They call him Mrs. Kravitz, the nosy neighbor from Bewitched, because he always has to know what's going on out there.
Unfortunately our windows are either up to high or there is furniture in front of the windows. I wish we had a big patio door they could look out of. I know that would be their favorite spot if we did! Next house we live in will definitely be more dog friendly. I generally don't let them on the furniture but occasionally this happens....
Ollie LOVES to stare out the windows...He either sits by the sliding glass doors in the breakfast nook so he can watch out to the street, or else he sits on the bed in my office/guestroom, pushes the verticals out of his way, lies down and watches the world go by...If I walk him, and then take Renny, he watches out the window to see where we are, lol....Must be a doodle thing, lol...
Yes, yes, yes! Both of my doodles are fascinated for hours by the goings on outside of the window. They get very upset with me when I forget to slide the curtains back so they can look out and end up doing it themselves (usually not to my satisfaction). Too funny!
