Does your doodle bite all toys to pieces? Heppu does this to every toy, no matter what material they are. He tears every fabric to small pieces ( I tried to give him a tovel to play with) and shreds all newspapers and cardboards and even all plastic toys are in small pieces less than 10 minutes. Any idea why? Just because he can? ; ). Any ideas for toys that will last?

Paper shredding is a favorite pastime of both my doodles. Any paper will do but tissues seem to be the main focus. Dryer sheets place high on their list too. Whenever clothes are being folded they hunt in the pile for them. These probably contain chemicals they shouldn't have in their mouths so I try not to let them get ahold of one but it's a contest they often win.
Hi Susan,
Parris has the same fetish for dryer sheets. It is so bad that I had to stop using them. All of our clothes stick to us all winter!!!

Sophie is also a big fan of paper - no one can put a napkin of their lap when she's around...its kind of embarrasing. She is also a power chewer and has eaten cloth and rubber toys as well as kongs. We were using the durable nylabones (yes, she ate those too) until Sophie fractured a molar. When the vet took the tooth out, she noticed that several of Sophie's other teeth were chipped. While I don't know for sure if this was the result of the way she chewed them, I had to take all of the nylabones away and I'm looking for alternatives. Good suggestions in this discussion - are there any others?
Marlow destroyed a Kong Wubba last night. It was the one with a squeaky ball in the top and the camo colored fabric streamers for large dogs. It lasted about 30 minutes, all the while he was squeaking away! Tennis balls and the Kong have lasted so far....he shredded the rope toy that Lola had for 3 years...lol!
I can't find a toy that Yankee can't destroy. He has never chewed anything but his toys except for dryer sheets or paper. When I get him a new toy, it is like he goes at it immediately to see how many pieces he can make it into. He picks up stuff on our way home from school and has gathered a collection of odd things. (I let him do it) He has a construction helmet, a soother and a small log to name a few. He also gathers rocks from my garden and brings them on the back porch. He actually chews them. I am afraid he will break a tooth someday. His last vet visit, they said his teeth were great. I'm guessing it is from all the chewing because we rarely clean his teeth.
