Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I have a 6 month old labradoodle. He has a significantly sized bald patch on one of his hindquarters. He frequently nibbles/bites himself at this spot, and that is why the hair is gone. He does not have fleas. The skin at the bald spot is not irritated in any way. Again, the skin looks normal and healthy. The rest of his coat is in great shape and no other issues. We love this puppy!

Any thoughts or advice are very appreciated.

Our Goldendoodle Rufus used to do this when he was younger and even had a few fur balls from it!!  Turns out he had an allergy to his dog food and it was giving him hot spots, that he would keep licking and chewing at the fur.  When we found this out, we changed his dog food , as it seemed he was allergic to the grain in his dog food.  He now eats "Blue" White fish and Oatmeal and that seems to have solved the problem.

I just switched him to grain free. Thank you for your advice.
